- Every Prosecutor and District Attorney work alongside their police detectives on all their criminal investigations, criminal charges, indictments and trials. Without a police investigation, the prosecution has no case. The police investigation is the foundation of every criminal case. The same is not always true regarding the defense side. Many defense attorneys, public defenders and defendants go to trial without having a criminal defense investigator assigned to their case.

- A solid case is built upon scientific and testimonial evidence; trustworthy witnesses; and reputable, honest, skilled and competent investigators. The addition of a criminal defense investigator equips and enables the defense counsel with resources and raw material during the search for the truth. Defense Investigations are one of the most important pillars of the American Justice System; without it there is no way to properly have checks and balances and to properly ensure police investigators remain accountable for their work. There are times when the prosecution rush through a case and embark in a quest for a conviction, and searching for the truth is no longer their goal. Police investigators are many times overworked and undertrained; police units can be understaffed, which sometimes can lead to evidence being overlooked. Apathy and incompetence are also very predominant and remain constant within the American Justice System. A 75% truth is still not the whole truth. There are no holes in the truth. In many cases "some" truth may be pursued and not necessarily the "whole" truth. There can be some truths in a given case, which are very incovenient for the prosecution because it may weaken their theory or collapse their case altogether. Reverence for the truth and the search for the truth should never be disregarded or else we will continue to see injustice towards victims of crimes and injustice towards the accused who may go to prison nationwide on wrongful convictions. Prosecutorial omission remains a very predominant behavior within the American Criminal Justice System. These are some of the reasons why criminal defense investigators are so important and so needed.

- Police should never be defunded. Police needs more funding and better management of these funds. Police also needs more training, not less. Defunding the Police will also mean precarious investigations, which can culminate in even more injustice to victims of crime and to those being charged with crimes. With less resources, less funds and less personnel, the quality of these investigations will decline to that of a Third World Country. This should not happen to our nation. On the case of Public Defenders: they only get 8% of the entire Federal Criminal Justice Budget. Public Defenders Office accross the country are immensely underfunded and lack the proper resources to efficiently represent defendants and to advocate for the constitutional rights afforded to the accused. A few states and a few counties nationwide took upon themselves to better their departments and have become great examples of what Public Defenders Office should be. Criminal Defense Investigations are crucially relevant to ensure that Police stays accountable and committed to excellence and truth. In conclusion, we all need and want a more righteous and fair justice system. Without accountability and without checks and balances, righteous and fair justice cannot be served. Det.
